Update WordPress using Netbeans

It’s Open source tool for content management system. You can make your own website, blog site or social networking site using various plug-ins are available. Many times, we need to change some core functionality according to requirement. To edit existing source code of WordPress we have many choices for editor. Here I’m going to demonstrate how to edit existing code of wordpress in Netbeans. Why Netbeans? I’d like two most functionality of history of editing and inbuilt connection for database.

Step 1.

Open “new project >> select PHP >> PHP application the existing sources >> click next

Step 2.

In “sources folder”, give the path of your WordPress directory. Project naming will get loaded automatically by WordPress. Now click next.

And provide project URL, index.php loaded automatically. Click Finish.

Congratulations, done. You all project file has been loaded, and then making changes in your existence of open source code.

sometimes it happened that, once you made changes and now you want to track the changes in code then you can find it by pressing ” history” button on the top. It is show changes according to the date and time, even it will display the changes done where and when? Refer figure 5.

Now the other feature which I like, that the data connection, go to services>> drivers>> select MySQL>> Right click >> click ” connect using”

Provide the required information like Host Name, Port,Database, username. You’ll find that at the very bottom JDBC URL is given that is the actual string used to connect the database in program. Click to the next and finish.

At Left side, In services Explorer, new icon will be ready with “jdbc:mysql….”. Expand that icon by clicking. That will list all available schema, expand your schema first folder with name “Table” will list available tables. You can make the changes in that table, you may change the data, structure of table, insert new table or many more …
